Schools are the factories
mass-producing students
as their branded products.
Forcing them into moulds
to suit society's
pre-defined roles.
Stifling creativity,
erasing individuality,
passion is suppressed
on the conveyor belt
of conformity.
No two brains are
the same they say.
Then why are same things
taught the same way?
Deserving a special mention
is the technique
of rote memorization.
No critical thinking,
just regurgitation.
Echoes of the past
fill the classrooms
of the present.
Standardized tests
reduce minds to numbers
And act as yardstick
to measure achievement.
Schools are the factories
But change must be sought.
Nurturing young minds,
Igniting the fire of thought.
Embrace their uniqueness
Let their brilliance shine
For children are not products
They are our entire
"Future-In-Design."
If the Scandinavian countries
can do, we can do it too.
Shorter school days,
Teachers getting a decent wage,
Preparing the kids for
the digital age.
Encouraging them to
connect, consolidate and
recreate!
Skills are thus honed
And the potential
is unleashed.
Cultivating empathy,
resilience and adaptability,
Let's leave a world
where fish are no longer
judged for climbing trees.
They will then finally be
celebrated for gliding
the waters with
tranquil ease!
