Should you wander where the brave dare not tread,
Or stand tall when others bow their head;
Should you speak the truth when lies abound,
And plant your feet on shifting ground;
Should you lift others when you're falling down,
Or wear a smile when given a crown;
Should you build your dreams with worn-out tools,
And teach the wise with lessons from fools;
Should you fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son!
