A Wife who is physically abused Mentally ambushed, and verbally accused,
Who's little mistakes, Are the count of whips she takes
She is the wife you vowed to love for life,
Not a slave you brought to serve your life.
A mother who cried silently into the night
Lying next to a monster who she thought was her knight,
The mother who silences her child's cry. "Ssh, my child, don't wake him up. Please don't cry".
She gave birth to your children The crying daughter and son.
In the shelter of a father's love, a daughter found solace,
Never imagining he'd one day turn to malice.
Someone meant to cherish, to hold dear, Inflicted pain, instilled an unfathomable fear.
Always there for laughter, for love so pure,
Yet every blow felt like love's premature.
Every passing day, they think,
"Maybe I'll shout next time, maybe I'll retort"
Ways to maybe drag him to the court, But they stop on "What will society think?"
Of course you are the man And she is a woman.
Oh Society! Start with the questions, Form the chain of protection,
Start from the four walls, shout! Get the message out,
Remember violence against women is a choice
And the fight against Gender based violence is your choice.
Man, stop with your recklessness
The woman you love, lies their lifeless, The mother of your children, hides them from you
The daughter who called you her hero, now sees a monster in you.
Stop violence against your women
Is it not enough? Their love, compassion, care, endearment,
Is it not enough?
