In my childhood
Violence was rare
It would astonish us
Whenever it did bare
Peace and kindness
Was the norm then
We didn't even know
The beliefs of a friend
Loving and good
Undivided we stood
Where oh were
Has my India gone
Proud and firm
In my young mind
I won't be part of
brain drain I'd bind
Without any fear
We roamed free
Seeing hate rise
I doubt my victory
Our unity was sweet
Now a lie to defeat
Where oh were
Has my India gone
Today our great nation
Is in grave despair
Unity made just a notion
Without true care
Hateful words we hear
Someone's today is fear
Know very very easily
Tomorrow it can be yours
Greed has no face
Hatred has no faith
Where oh were
Has my India gone
Faith is personal
Rights are public
Don't let anarchy
Rule our republic
The silent apathy of
Good men & women
Is what can for sure
Quietly spell our end
Protect our freedom
With love bind us firm
No way will ever
My India be gone
