This poem is about a woman who was once bullied in elementary school but still looks at the bullying like its her fault. She feels as if she isnt loved and does not have a reason for living, until one day when she receives a mysterious letter
I have a feeling,
A feeling in my mind. If I could touch the ceiling ,
Or just sit back and unwind.
Would they love me ?
Or would they see me as me , not the person I yearn to be.
, Why I am I like this? Well you see,
In the first grade I had a bully,
She would hit me , taunt me and shove me into lockers.
Next thing you know , by tenth grade I had millions of stalkers.
But even now it’s like I’m a car that’s stuck and can’t drive
In a world so cruel, I have no fuel.
It’s like I’m in a video game , and I’m not able to revive.
As I look in the mirror ,
I ask myself - what is my reason?
In this world full of terror, Spring , summer, autumn or any other season, Or a bird soaring in the sky ,
Or maybe just an innocent little butterfly.
They must have a reason, to survive.
In this world , how am I meant to thrive?
As I walked in my garden ,
I bent down to tie my shoelace ,
My dog came and licked my face. That’s when I decided, to stop begging when I make a mistake for pardon. As the sun hit my eyes, The hummingbird sang,
For once I stopped hearing in my head those cries.
As my doorbell rang,
A letter I received,
For the first time , getting a letter - I felt relieved.
My life was only getting better and better.
As I open my eyes and the letter I see, Says that I’ll be happy if I change but happier if I stay like me.
Signed - your first grade bully .
With a smile on my face and revenge in my heart,
I burnt the letter,
I realised I don’t need any validation, Or confirmation. From now on , a new beginning I shall start.
I don’t need any letter ,
As the more like me I am , the better.
This is amazing !
Very touching as it has come straight from the heart
Sentiments are expressed beautifully
Shows the sensitivity of a child’s heart -
