Life and Death

I saw end, grasping me tight in its embrace.
With it every heartbeat seemed to lose its pace.
My soul found itself oscillating between life and death,
And my body slowly obstructing me from taking the next breath.

The beauty of life that often went unperceived by me flashed before my eyes,
My unconscious self-begged life to allow me to be the witness of the next sunrise.
The thin line that separated the two realms seemed to merge,
But even through the darkness a glimmer of hope surged.

My soul now came to a standstill, awaiting the final decision taken by fate
Oh! What a coincidence it was, to return from heaven’s alluring gate.
For in the embrace of death, I found my rebirth,
A phoenix that rose from the ashes of earth.
