Letter to my Father

By Rasmita Panigrahi

Like a coral jasmine, day flinches

bolting my thriving desires

and blooming dreams

to enroll myself in the journey of

humanoids where I…

I live, love also laugh but;

But not as aged before I used to do!

Used to live as your daughter,

a princess with thousand smiles

as if a flying bird in the sky of rainbows

free from the cage of riven relationships.

Like a dew drop, night arises

anticipating acquitted hopes

and intense ideas

to connect myself in the voyage of

humans where I…

I explore, entwine and enchant

the age old childhood dreams

to live, love and laugh

as used to flourish like a fresh bud

as if a charming aroma in your blossomed courtyard

free from the bondage of noxious bonding.

Like a lighted lamp, at the end,

I find myself in the darkness

guffawed by the reality that

you have departed for your celestial abode…

long before whose blissful love and affection

interwoven with heavenly blessings

nurtured me and my life

to alive the naive wishes within me

to live, love and laugh as I used to do but;

But without you, I cannot endure

anymore to fight for my existence

in this unfeeling world.
