In the Shelter of a Shoe

BY NITHIL JS

A foot that has never been outside,
takes the comfort of the shoe from the inside,
never realizing the pain, the shoe has to bear,
the feet kicks one to the floor and other to the stand;

the dear old shoes have seen him since child,
accommodating his needs and changes its size,
some of these shoes are worth a million,
and some unfortunate worth nothing to a million;

in the eyes of the foot,
it treats them good,
but only the shoe knows –
the weight it holds,
not only as a body,
but the weight on his soul;

the foot doesn’t need the shoe,
if the shoe doesn’t match his clothes,
even for those little socks –
he prefers something more,
but when he trips and falls,
the shoe’s knots are at fault,
but once he steps out, he feels your love;

And when he steps out,
He would say –
Oh, mother for your love that is worth a fortune,
I neither paid a penny or two,
Why did you run for me?
When I haven’t appreciated you;

The day you grew old,
I left with the others like you,
Now I am my own shoe,
Just to crumble at my first step as you;

If you had granted
Your love as a loan,
I would be still at your debt
Even for a millennium or two.
