Have you ever met you?

By Mini Sharma

You wake up to shut the curtain
And your eyes as well
Your steps measure your reluctance,
The downfall is in fathoms, they tell.
Then is when the rays ask you
Have you ever met you?

You do what you love
Still your day ends with anguish
You chose your own life
Still you wish to relinquish.
Then is when the time asks you
Have you ever met you?

A miles long bridge
Is you distance from your family
But you don't pick your mother's call
Telling it's untimely.
Then is when your soul asks you
Have you ever met you?

Humanity leads to heaven
Is what your adorned mind recites
Erecting a heap of thoughts to help
Is what your bare mind's plight.
Then is when your life asks you
Have you ever met you?

In the moonlit night, you tell yourself
The day wasn't too vile to weep
Change of vision, smile on lips
That's what all you need.
You jot down your own problems
You guide yourself through them
Then is when you ask yourself
Have you ever met you?
