Echoes of Unspoken Love

By Nida Ahmed

In the quiet dawn, as morning's light unfolds,
A story ancient as time, yet seldom told,
Of parents whose hearts beat a silent song,
In rhythms of sacrifice, their love so strong.

From the first cry that broke the silence deep,
To sleepless nights, with dreams they couldn't keep,
They wove their hopes into each day anew,
Their lives a canvas, painted just for you.

Through years of toil, their hands grew worn and rough,
Each sacrifice made, without a sigh or huff,
They bore their burdens with a hidden grace,
Their joy reflected in your shining face.

But as the years unfurl, the gap may grow,
Between the paths you tread and those they know,
You seek your freedom, a world vast and wide,
Yet forget the roots from which you now stride.

For every "No" that sparked your youthful ire,
There lay a wisdom, born of their desire,
To shield you from the world's harsh, cold embrace,
To guide you toward a safer, brighter place.

Their words, though stern, were cloaked in tender care,
Each reprimand, a silent, heartfelt prayer,
That you might find the strength to stand alone,
Yet always feel their love, like gentle stone.

It's easy to forget, in youthful haste,
The silent sacrifices, years laid to waste,
For dreams they held, but quietly set aside,
So yours could soar, unbound by space or tide.

And though they falter, make mistakes anew,
Their love remains, a pillar, steady, true,
For parents are but human, flawed and frail,
Yet in their hearts, it's your success they hail.

So pause, reflect, let gratitude take flight,
Embrace the echoes of their silent might,
For in their struggles, their joys, and their pain,
Lies a love unspoken, pure, without refrain.

One day you'll see, with eyes no longer veiled,
The depth of love in which your life was hailed,
And though it's late, let your heart's voice be heard,
In gratitude, repay them, word by word.
