'cause I believe in Magic

By Pratishtha Verma

Somewhere in an unparalleled world
Where I lay gently on light green grass
My fantasies were all true there
Came running to me from afar

Giggling with pixies
Singing with fairies
Their love was sweet and pure
And magical charm never varies

Dancing with lilliputians and gnomes
Their shape and small home
Were unique in its own way
Spreading kindness wherever they roam

Fighting with the swordsmen
The battles I've won
Soldiers marching to the glory
Of greatness the kingdom has become

Finding with lost princesses
Their way back home
Their songs and their adventures
Make them more adorn

To fly with superheroes
Soar in wind skirl
Waving flowing long cape
Ready to save the world

Oh to laugh with imps, dwarves and elves
And with goblins on their way
Their small shelter and busy life
But always make a stranger stay

Talking animals always had my attention
For they are very amusing
As their company gets along
Can leave the company of human being

Werewolves and vampires pleasuring on their feast
They're as alluring as they impart
They can love you as their own piece
Or bother them and get teared apart

And to live with the cavemen in stone houses
Everyday exploring something new
Hunting with spears and blades and axes and harpoons
Living as the wise old person when
my days are few

Pirates are an interesting fellowship
They play safe and clean
The adventures are all ahead
To find the treasure hidden beneath the sea

And do not try to come between
The Dragon and its rage
For they reside in haunted forests and dank caves
Breathing fire is their biggest trait
The stories are all true of how they avenge

Oh to dwell in a dystopian society
Feeding the revolution everyday
Catastrophic and cataclysmic decline all around
Better to survive like insects, humankind primed to overpower the fate

Mermaids, Centaurs, Griffins and Sirens
Pegasus, Fauns, Harpies and Unicorns
Dark riders and Giants, all of the them
With size and wings and fins and horns

How to wave a wand and cast a spell
And to be surrounded by magic and mystery
How to stop the evil from arising
Learnt from witchcraft and wizardry

The stories I've been told
Of legends and the myths
In fables I repose
And the tales I ought to live

The folklores I listened
The chronicles I breathe
Where in prose moments happen
And the poetry I walk in

My fantasies are all true here
In its peculiarities I squirreled
Somewhere in a parallel universe Somewhere in an unparalleled world
