"Those who came before,
Those who will come after,
People of consequence,
Shaping the world around them,
In the wake of their actions,
Do so, due to their convictions.
Confidence in their gait,
Chest puffed out and head held high,
They look people square in the eye,
Knowing what they know to be true.
And in the wake of their actions,
When this world is made a happier place,
Does it matter if their truth is ""The"" truth?
In a transient world, we seek absolutes,
Yet, perhaps, the only absolute is this,
That everything that lives,
Craves the same ever-lasting feeling of happiness,
Only obtained through different means.
So, let our truths be our truths,
And let our lies be our lies,
But, as long as we are alive,
Let us strive to make the people we meet,
A little happier than they were, before they met us.
Perhaps that is what it truly means,
To be a person of consequence."
