Krithika Sudarsanam – Delhi Poetry Slam

Krithika Sudarsanam

Krithika Sudarsanam graduated as an electrical engineer. She discovered her intrinsic talent for writing in her early adolescence at the age of thirteen. This unteachable talent was recognized by her tenth-grade English ma’am, R. Jagathi. From then on, her growth was a hand-held one guided by her ma’am. A little more than a year ago, she started writing on an Indian app (YourQuote) that began paying her; her hard work fuelled her curiosity by providing opportunities to publish three books. These books are available online. She was shown as a poet/writer by Young Minds Publication through the YourQuote app. The inception of her publishing activities commenced here. Two of the three books are available on the YourQuote app. Her third, but debut, book of poetry (Emotions of Life) is available online (Amazon). Her greatest benediction was her spouse, who always stood as the strongest pillar in all her endeavours, especially in this publishing task. She never fails to express her gratitude to the Almighty, who has blessed her with bonanzas such as her parents, her sibling—a blooming chartered accountant—and, definitely, her son, who shares a part of the credit for her growth too.

Q:What themes do you like to explore in your writing?

I like to capture the essence of life in all its complexities. Most of my poems are conceptual poems. Some reveal the family ties involving siblings, memories, money, and positivity. As my writing journey started at the start of my  teenage years i  almost covered all the topics i am used to during that time. Some of my  topics involve the trivial matters of life. As the years advanced, i also walked through the romantic topics that  would be really enchanting whenever read and certainly  succeeds in giving a walk back to the lives of the readers. During the initial days of my career a few poems were written and my last poem was an elegy on my paternal grandma in 2008.As of these 3 poems  UNTOLD EXPRESSIONS : I feel that the facial gestures, body movements and non-verbal communication carry the most powerful messages (Positive or  unpleasant ones) in the best way possible.HUMAN HEART : One of the most delicate organs of the body  i feel the psychological functions  as MIND is multi-folded times heavier than the physical functions as  HEART.  FOR......GIVE UP  : This poem talks about the importance of Giving up in life  by every man to achieve the desired results. As of the last stanza  the list is never ending but i had to give up for the poem closure. All these poems were born during my college days.

Q: Coming from an engineering background, how did you take a liking towards poetry?

It is almost  a decade back before being an engineering graduate my writing journey commenced and  travelled through almost a decade , stopped and again resumed May last through Your Quote. In short my engineering background has a least role in my journey of poetry.
