BROKEN

By-Tanvi Nagar

I’m shrouded with the veils of solitude and blackness,

Travelling on a road which leads to a dead end and tears of sadness,

I hear a lot of voices, I wonder if they are just inside my head,

And if they are the ones of who advise me that I’d be better off, dead.

Dead. This word resounds in my mind, going round and round,

And I just ponder, how it shall affect those whom I pretend to be around,

I’m still lonely, I talk to myself, I’m a lunatic they say,

But I’m so marooned on this island that I just want to be carried away,

I shed a thousand tears blaming it on everything around me,

The truth is that sometimes my pain overflows from my eyes, I’m so lonely.

Pain is something that teaches us, but what about this pain?

I’m the only one to comfort myself and those people in my brain,

This world of mine is unique, it changes every day,

Becoming blacker and blacker, slowly, painfully, carrying me away.

I want to see more colours, probably some more red,

Yes, red would be the last colour I would see, before I would be dead.

Then, from above, at my graveside stood a crowd with tears in their eyes,

Passing the word of their love for me, its all a bag full of lies,

They put me in a casket and buried me, once again,

Buried me in their memories, forever, gone was my pain,

My body was buried in the ground, my soul was set free,

I am in the comforting hands of God, I am no longer lonely.
