Sherin Bidar
As I waited for the moon
By my balcony,
I asked the night
For a bottle of darkness.
So I can braid it into my hair.
The night relented.
And there there was
Glowing like fireflies
A handful of stars
Inside the bottle.
The night had sailed away.
So I kept them
And wore them in the morning around my throat
My face lit in its powdery shimmer.
That's the day
You fell in love with me.
