The Most Indian Thing About Me

'Why do you overdress so much?', they complain.
In the era of "less is more" how do I make them understand
What is it do dress like there's no tomorrow, in bright and colourful outfits and feel all the more beautiful about yourself!
How do I make them understand that back at home my mother used to doll me up in pretty outfits at every occasion, On Diwali in lehenga, on holi in kurti and on Christmas like a cute little Santa!
And now far from home, when I get ready I remember what my mother says, "A true Indian would always find excuses to overdress!"
So, yes I do over dress but that's my way,
And when they complain about it, I say,
That's the most Indian thing about me, and this will forever stay!
