Herald Of Peace

I'm too scared to look out the window,
The borderline of trust burning in flames,
The fumes are choking me up,
As I wake from a deep slumber-

There is no fire, no chaos,
What a pleasant day!
A serene smile on my face,
But nothing lasts forever-

As we divide between us,
The sea of harmony dries up,
Leaving us dry and helpless-
But behold you morbid souls
At the sweet innocence of life,
The world we built together,
Filled with love and benevolence.

Why can't we be like this,
Forever and ever?
Why is it so hard to imagine,
A world without war and destruction,
A world without betrayal and uproar?

As all fades into the dusk of humanity,
There is a glimmer of sunshine-
We, the people of today
Have the power to heal the world,
The remedy was always in our hands for-
A hope for peace and understanding
And freedom of mind and soul.
