Her – Delhi Poetry Slam

Her

By Nafeesa Ghazal

Frost did say ice and fire can perish this globe

But we liquefied the solid with all our gases

All that left is fire

Fire in our hearts, lungs and body

And

We gifted the same to her lungs

Shaved all her organs

Cut her arms and legs

Making a bloodied portrait

Now she fades

Binding her elements in cubes and folders

She packs her suitcase

To find some other varmints

To be their mother
