Autobiography Of A Tree

By Rikita Deborah George

I love those red and golden hues

Hugging me from above blues

Twinkling droplets shine like a pearl

With wind my clothes dances like a girl

I have green, red and yellow

That makes me a pretty fellow

Home of many birds and insects

I am the tree that protects

My life for you is a purifier

Even on death I give you fire

I have a song for you to sing

From God to you I am a blessing

I give fresh breeze and the rain

In return you give me only pain

My trunk is cut or set on blaze

Those devil eyes with happiness gaze

Playing under my branches you grow

Why this hatred for my love you show

Nature sings a melancholy song

That you’ll hear your life long

Today you clap on my death

Soon mornings will make you regret

Sun will be there, moon and the sky

But for you they will be just a lie

On Earth shall reside devil and ghosts

Your smoky bodies shall be their toast
