A Bittersweet Dream

Ananya Oberoi

They transcend time and space;
They let you see every place;
Cherish a particular face.

All your misery and fears
are nowhere to be found;
drowned out by a familiar sound.

The clock ticks,
The moonlight drifts away;
As night welcomes day.

The hands that held you,
The warmth that befell you;
Much to your surprise
Along with the sunrise;
Suddenly disappears.
All your wishes, now submerged amidst your tears.

Hopelessly you let out a scream;
Once again you met in a dream.
