Voices of the New Generation
Delhi Poetry Slam invites you to join our poetry workshop on April 16th 2023
The 30 chosen poets will spend eight hours with internationally renowned poets and gain unparalleled insight into bringing life into their own poems through a series of workshops, activities and discussions.
Participants will read out their works on stage, opening new prospects for boosting their confidence and speaking skills. Celebrating their love for poetry with a like-minded and intimate group- this is a perfect occasion to make new friends. We're sure that this workshop at Delhi Poetry Slam would be a rewarding one, which our participants would cherish for a long time.

Eligibility: Open to all. Age no bar! You don't need to be a certain age to love poetry.

Mentors
Nandana Dev Sen
Nandana Dev Sen is an Indian-born American actress, writer and child rights activist. Nandana is the daughter of Nobel Laureate economist Amartya Sen and Pama Shri awardee Nabaneeta Dev Sen. She is known for playing a leading role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ and Ketan Mehta’s ‘Rang Rasiya’.
After graduating from Harvard University (where she won the Detur Book Prize as well as the John Harvard Scholarship and Elizabeth Agassiz Prize each year) and studying filmmaking at the USC School of Cinema-Television, Nandana worked as a book editor, a screenwriter, a translator and an advocate for child protection.
Tansy Troy
Tansy Troy has been making books, telling stories and writing poetry ever since she can remember and believes it is everyone’s birth-right to share their journey through creative expression. After graduating with a Masters in English Literature from King’s College Cambridge, Tansy’s journey led her to schools, galleries and community theatres across the UK. Tansy teaches Performance Arts at King’s College India, tours participatory performances for young people around India and curates young people’s journal The Apple Press, a sustainably printed magazine of stories, illustrations, photographs, articles, puzzles, cartoons, poetry and projects. She has published Artists' Books for children and poetry for older readers: most recently the chapbook Song of Roses, printed in 2021 by Bulbul Books.
Vancouver Shullai
Vancouver Shullai is a poet and singer-songwriter based in Shillong, Meghalaya. He is the winner of Wingword Poetry Prize 2017. His debut book ‘How To Love A Broken Man’ is a collection of thoughtful and honest poetry exploring varied shades of life. Shullai currently teaches at St Anthony's College.
Workshop Fees
The workshop fee to attend the full day program is Rs 6000 + 18% GST

Get published in a collective anthology
We'll be publishing a chapbook with poems by all participants who attend the program. The chapbook will be shipped to each poet's residence within two weeks.
Spoken Word Poetry Video Shoot
Participants will have the opportunity to performs their poem in front of camera.
Perform Your Poetry Live
The workshop culminates in a public poetry reading event during the evening. Each poet will have the chance to perform their original work on stage and invite compliments from an enthusiastic audience.
Certificate of Merit
Participants will be awarded with certificates of merit to showcase as a future reference.

Venue
The Stainless Gallery is a welcoming space for visual and performing arts programs located in New Friends Colony. With lots of room for independent thinking, writing, interaction and getting to know each other, the poets will have a fun time exploring their artistic potential to the fullest.
